We welcome you to this website of the Minneapolis Meditation Group (MMG) of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF). SRF is an international nonprofit religious society founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda. The society is dedicated to carrying on the spiritual and humanitarian work that he began—seeking to foster greater harmony and understanding among those of all races, religions, and nationalities, and introducing to truth-seekers all over the world his universal teachings on the ancient science of Yoga.
SRF offers many online resources for meditators accessible from their homepage, including recorded meditations, kirtans and inspirational talks by monastics. In particular, many MMG members regularly participate in the SRF Online Meditation Center.
In addition to our regular Saturday and Sunday services we offer the following special events and services:
Sunday School:
We welcome children from 3 to 10 years old to participate in our Sunday School program. We meet once a month on the first Sunday of each month during the Reading Service. The program usually runs from September through May.
Lessons Reading Group:
Every Wednesday night, unless preempted by special events, we hold the SRF Lessons Reading Group via ZOOM. You need to be an SRF Lessons Student to participate. Please contact Virtual Meetings (virtualmeetings@srfminneapolis.org) to receive the instructions on how to connect to these meetings.
Monthly Potluck:
Our monthly potluck is held on the first Sunday of each month after the Reading Service. Members bring homemade baked goods and dishes or bring something to share. We enjoy great fellowship time and delicious food! All are welcome, please join us!
